The results of a clinical study assessing the performance of IBEX BH compared to DXA have recently been published in the JBMR Plus journal online. A new study led by experts at the University of Exeter, has found that opportunistic screening using IBEX BH is as predictive as currently used DXA scans in predicting osteoporosis at the hips and spine. The results, combined with extensive healthcare economics modelling provide evidence that IBEX BH has huge potential to improve case finding of osteoporosis, a disease characterised by deterioration of bone mass and structure, leading to fragility fractures that cost healthcare providers billions and seriously impacting the lives of millions.
