Staff Profile – Meet behind-the-scenes hero, Lisa March

Lisa March
(Quality and Office Manager)

Lisa is passionate about everything Quality and Regulatory, ensuring compliance with applicable medical device regulations, guidance, and standards, whilst staying abreast of changes in the regulatory climate. Lisa is currently studying for a Masters in Regulatory Affairs.

I asked Lisa a few questions to find out a little more about her interests, passions, and background, and she gave some intriguing responses…

A quick summary of what you do at IBEX?
I am the Quality and Office Manager at IBEX, I work with the full team to ensure our processes meet the requirements of ISO 13485, the Medical Device Standards, ISO 14971 Medical Device Risk Management standard, IEC 62304 Medical Device Software standards and other relevant statutory and regulatory requirements. I also manage the Accounts and Risk Management functions across IBEX.

How did you find yourself at IBEX?
Before IBEX, I was in a role that was becoming more HR focussed and I wanted to broaden my horizons. The opportunity to apply for the Office Manager role came in December 2015. So having worked in my previous role for 10 years was slightly apprehensive to apply but decided to give it a go. I was notified on my birthday that I was successful at interview and the rest is history!

Professional background, life outside of work, and some key interests?
I am qualified in HR, Accounts and Business Management, and have over 30 years of experience in these areas. More recently I qualified as a CQI IRCA qualified Lead Auditor in Quality Management and have completed numerous training courses on Quality and Regulatory compliance.

Outside of work I relax by spending time with my family, enjoying the outdoors as much as possible! I really love history so you will often find me at National Trust or National Heritage sites. I also enjoy keeping fit and my favourite exercise regime at the moment is Les Mills Body Combat, which is pretty hardcore!

What are some of your future goals and aspirations?
I have quite a few, but I think just to be happy and to never stop learning is one of the most important ones!

A moment in life that you’ll never forget?
In 2009, in Jamaica, I got the opportunity to swim with dolphins in the sea, it was such an amazing experience and then walking up Jamaica’s famous waterfall Dunns River Falls. Something I will never forget!!

Your go-to productivity trick?
A cup of tea on my desk and a list of ‘to dos’ for the day.

What’s surprised you about working at IBEX?
I’ve worked in a few different organisations, private, public and charity sectors and I’ve never experienced the teamwork and camaraderie that I have experienced at IBEX. You feel included and valued on your individual merits. Its quite a place to work!

There you have it!
