Findings of research into osteoporosis diagnosis compared to IBEX BH potential presented at WCO2024
Paul was at the World Congress on Osteoporosis presenting a poster detailing the results from the first phase of our pilot with the Royal Cornwall Hospital Trust. This showed that DXA referral rates were low for patients over 50 attending for a wrist X-ray, even following a fracture and many who were referred to DXA did not require treatment.
Results from trialling of IBEX BH on a random sample of wrist images suggest IBEX BH would increase case finding and reduce the treatment gap through smarter referrals to DXA.
